Despite that, the writers, producers, cast and crew crafted an excellent season full of interesting characters and plots.
Season Five ended with Sherlock facing a serious medical issue, one that might end his career as a detective because it affected his ability to think coherently. Because the network couldn't make up its mind whether or not Season Six was going to be a full or half season, the writers and producers were not able to fully explore all the ramifications of that illness. Despite that, they were able to tell some very good stories, come up with a really unique villain, and - though it seemed a little thin - explain Sherlock's recovery.
Finally notified that they would have a full season's worth of episodes, the writers and producers managed to come up with even more intriguing storylines and characters and a nice twist at the end of the year.
As usual, Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu were terrific as Holmes and Watson but I think I would be remiss if I did not also heap a huge amount of praise on the rest of the cast. Working under the most trying of conditions - unsure whether they were filming the final season of the show or not - they performed brilliantly.
An excellent season all around. Looking forward to Season Seven.
It's a great show, though, and this season wrapped things up so beautifully that I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the last season. I'd just recommend buying the DVDs for it from somewhere other than Amazon, if you can.
I keep reading the show is going to end, but the sixth season I thought was really good. The stories were very well written and acted. The cast works well together. I hope the show continues.

So, I have to sum up, this was so very much worth the watch for me and even though I'm saddened to see it end I'm glad they had the opportunity to finish it unlike so many other series that get cancelled and never get the chance
Pongo cuatro estrellas, ya que no dice en que lenguajes ni subtítulos está. Yo la compré con la esperanza de que viniera mínimo subtitulada al español, cosa que no fue así.
Every chapter makes sense. Filled with humor, but also passion on an understandable level, this season bowled me over.
When Sherlock quotes Rilke, Watson gets attacked, or discusses care with her mom, and baby-proofing is on the agenda, I realize how absolutely well written and well acted this series is.
Jonny Lee Miller is superb when he confronts the fact that he may suffer from PCS which could impact his work. Toucing, heart wrenching. Acting Miller thrills me here.
The character of Michael (Desmond Harrington) is so evil, so calculated. Makes me look at attractive good looking souls with an inner terror…what are they hiding? What a good choice to act opposite Sherlock.
I am an everlasting fan of this show
The DVDs are fine, although I would have preferred BluRay (which I could not find for this season), and I enjoyed the binge sessions immensely. I wish they would not wait so long between releases, and maybe squeeze a few more seasons in to keep me entertained. Fun!
